Someone visits your website with the Viral Tweet Generator application installed. They will enter their twitter username and password and hit the "Tweet Now" button. This will send the message displayed within the form field of the Viral Tweet Generator applicaton out to their followers.

The success of sending the tweet is checked back from twitter.com and if everything went well they are redirected to the success.html page. This is the page where you have placed the thank you message, the download link to the free software or report or whatever you want to use as honorable bribe the get the user's tweet on your behalf.

In case they might have submitted a wrong username/password combination, they will be redirected to the error.html, informing them that something went wrong. You might want to ask politely to go back and to try again.

Edit twitter.php

First open twitter.php and edit the variable $message. This is the tweet that will be sent afterwards to the followers of the person using your Viral Tweet Generator application.

Edit and rename success.html and error.html

Edit success.html and error.html. Success.html is the page the visitor is redirected to when sending of the tweet is confirmed. You may want to put at least a thank you message here or the link to the promised download you offered for sending the tweet. The error.html is used for the case that something went wrong. You can use this page to ask politely to try sending the tweet again.

Don't forget to rename success.html, otherwise it is easy for someone who knows about the Viral Tweet Generator, knows where to find your "carrot" without tweeting.

Edit index.html

Second change index.html. First of all you should ensure the message showed in the form is the same as the $message variable you edited before in Step.1.

Afterwards edit index.html the way that it appears as you want it to look, you might want to add something that encourages your visitor to tweet your message to their followers. Adding a video, a free report or a free piece of software to download might do its job very effective here.

To control the appearance of the Viral Tweet Generator you change the css.css file according your needs.

Upload to server

Now you can upload all of the files to your web hosting account. Make sure that the paths to all the files are correct.

A product to give away

The first thing what you need to make use of the Viral Tweet Generator is a poduct you want the world to know about. This can be anything from a video you would want to share, a report you want to give away for free or some piece of software you are going to offer for free.
